Job Description
Missouri Rural Electric Cooperative is seeking a full-time Lead Journeyman Lineman to join our organization headquartered in Palmyra, MO. The candidate will be required to be on a rotation schedule for 24-hour outage calls.
Education/Experience: Must have completed certification as a Journeyman Lineman. High school education or equivalent is required. Courses in electricity and manual arts are desirable.
Physical Requirements: Must be physically and mentally able to perform strenuous tasks, such as climbing power poles and ladders, continuously. Lifting and carrying weight of at least 75 pounds and be capable of holding over long periods of time. Be able to lift and work overhead for extended periods. Be able to work extended hours outside in all types of weather and over all types of terrain. Must maintain a physical weight less than the weight capacity placards on all aerial devices. Perform supervisory functions as they apply to line work and the training of subordinates. And be willing to accept duty calls under adverse weather conditions 24 hours per day. This position reports to the Operations Manager. Initial medical evaluation may be required to determine ability to perform essential job functions and is subject to pre-employment and random drug testing.
Other Requirements: Must have and maintain a minimum Class A, Commercial Driver's License and must be able to provide the required documentary proof. Must be able to travel and stay overnight away from the Cooperative service area for training meetings or representing the Cooperative as required.
